Are you travelling to Naples and unsure of what to do? The city is so packed with a rich and vibrant cultural history that finding the best things to do can seem daunting. As the center of Naples’ historic downtown shopping district, Fifth Avenue South is in touch with what makes Naples the cultural gem of Florida. If you are planning a trip to Naples, check out these delightful historic sights.

Naples Pier
The Naples Pier is the centerpiece of Naples. Construction on the pier finished in 1889, and ever since it has stood strong. Extending 600 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, the Naples Pier is the perfect place to observe wildlife and enjoy the Florida sun. We recommend coming out in the evening to watch a gorgeous sunset!

Historic Palm Cottage
Constructed in 1895, the Historic Palm Cottage is the oldest house in Naples. This gorgeous two-story home was built by one of Naples’ founding residents, Walter N. Halderman, and hosts a bevy of original and donated artwork, furnishing, and tools spanning the last century. Experience the rustic charm as you tour the house museum and get a glimpse of life in historic Old Naples.
